Essays and field notes on systems, AI, security, and the philosophy of craft.
A place to think in public, with the work behind the argument.
Essays make room for an argument. Field notes keep a useful observation close to the work that produced it. This is their canonical home; copies elsewhere should point back here.

Publication status
No essays published here yet
The archive will list work after it has been reviewed and published. Drafts are not public entries, and a promised article is not an available one.
2The territory
- AI and systems
- What happens between a capable model and a workflow someone can rely on: context, tools, authority, evaluation and recovery.
- Security and infrastructure
- The assumptions behind permissions, automation and evidence. The difference between a green check and a correct outcome.
- Philosophy of craft
- How people learn, build, explain and maintain things. Breadth is useful when it changes the quality of the work.
3Read the work behind the ideas
The case studies examine agent tool boundaries, an automation inventory failure, and this site's implementation. Each starts with a specific problem and keeps the result within what the evidence supports.
